Robert Sirney

Robert Arthur Sirney, 83, of Richland Township, Allegheny County, died Friday at LAS/St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.

He was born in Pittsburgh to the late John P. and Olga (Kuschel) Sirney.

Mr. Sirney was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He participated in the American Theater of operations.

Mr. Sirney was retired from Armstrong Cork, where he was an engineer for 27 years. He then worked in the maintenance department of Passavant Hospital for 15 years as their director.

Robert was a member of Bakerstown American Legion and the Free & Accepted Masons 716 of North Hills.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Hardt) Sirney of Richland Township; a daughter, Janet Sirney-Mitchell of Butler; sons, Mark (Marcia) Sirney of Middlesex Township and Paul Sirney of Richland Township; sisters, Betty Fusan of California and Jeanne (Rick) Jones of Nevada; a brother, Richard (Lois) Sirney of Florida; granddaughters, Heather, Heidi and Gretchen Sirney; and grandsons, Robert C., Ryan, Drew and David Mitchell, and Michael, Alex and Christian Sirney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Howard Sirney, Lois Barto, Olga (John) Dawson, Charlotte Dormeyer, Mildred Hawkins and John "Jack" Sirney.

<B>SIRNEY</B> — Visitation for Robert Arthur Sirney, who died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Herbert R. King Jr. Funeral Home</B>, 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3832 Gibsonia Road in Gibsonia with Pastor Joel Benson officiating. Please meet at the church on Tuesday. Interment with military honors will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Cheswick.Memorial donations are suggested to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3832 Gibsonia Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044.
