8:10 p.m. Wednesday — Two Ellwood City men, ages 21 and 23, were arrested after they allegedly stole about $500 worth of merchandise from Dick's Sporting Goods at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. One man entered the store and gathered the merchandise while two others acted as lookouts near a car waiting in front of the store. Police are searching for one of the men who acted as a lookout.2:55 p.m. Wednesday — A tractor trailer driven by Sylvia C. Bittel, 53, of Butler and a tractor trailer driven by David R. Dean, 55, of Monaca, Pa., collided on the Interstate 79 on-ramp in Jackson Township. No one was injured, and Bittel was cited for following too closely.8:30 p.m. Nov. 26 — John M. Pillar, 22, a 17-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, all of Butler, each were cited for theft after they allegedly took a purse belonging to Kathern C. Holman of Butler and left at the Wendy's in Clearview Mall, Center Township, without trying to return it.

5:35 p.m. Tuesday — Vincent M. Rodgers, 21, of Butler was charged with retail theft after he allegedly tried to steal about $78 worth of tools from the Kmart on Hansen Avenue.7:09 a.m. Monday — Todd A. Moore, 43, of Butler was charged with simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly threw Deanna Russo of Butler against a wall during an argument at an apartment on Mitchell Avenue. Police allegedly discovered a glass crack pipe and cooking spoon in the pocket of Moore's sweat shirt when he was arrested. Russo suffered minor injuries.

2:08 p.m. Oct. 29 — A vehicle driven by Gail Custer, 52, of Jackson Center and a vehicle driven by William Dickey, 57, of Butler collided at the intersection of North Broad and Chestnut streets. Custer was taken by ambulance to the Grove City Medical Center with chest pain.
