Butler girls edged at Hampton

Butler saw its two-game win streak come to an end Monday night with a 60-57 girls basketball defeat at Hampton.

The Golden Tornado slipped to 3-2 on the season. Hampton improved to 4-1.

Hannah Aldridge paced Butler with 17 points. Amelia McMichael added 12 points and Sydney Patterson 11. Megan Murray led the Talbots with 30 points.

Bradford 42, Union 41 — Alanna Benson sank a trey in the closing seconds to give visiting Bradford the win. Gracie Gallagher scored 12 points to lead Union.

Benson paced Bradford with 18.

Tyler Garvin scored a pair of goals as Seneca Valley rolled past Upper St. Clair, 7-1, at the Baierl Ice Complex. George Bailey and Jacob Gilbert scored their first goals of the season.

Jonathan Nichols made 18 saves in goal for the Raiders (9-1-0-1), who play North Allegheny at 7 p.m. Monday at the Baierl Ice Complex.

Thomas Jefferson 5, Butler 1 — Rocco Pelligrino scored the lone goal for the Golden Tornado, assisted by Carson Bish. Butler netminder EJ Delaney made 34 saves as Thomas Jefferson scored a pair of empty-net goals late.

Butler hosts Meadville at 7:10 p.m. Monday for Senior Night at the Frozen Pond.
