Earl Richard "Dick" Coulter Sr., 80, of Butler died at 5:54 p.m. Wednesday in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 15, 1928, in Butler, he was a son of Byron J. and Margaret Myers Coulter.

He retired as a carpenter from Local Union 500.

Mr. Coulter was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and belonged to the American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury.

He enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp in Sheffield and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen G. Coulter; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Lana) Nolan and Mrs. Victor (Kay) McKinney, both of Butler, and Mrs. Dennis (Leann) Rumbaugh of Fenelton; six grandchildren, Terrence and Earl Lantz, Nicole Ache, Jason McKinney and Lori and Raymond Rumbaugh; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Isaaco of Butler and Dorothy Fair of Slippery Rock.

He was preceded in death by a sister; two brothers, and a son, Earl Richard "Dick" Coulter Jr., who died July 7, 2007.
