Students to return after gas pipe strike
The Butler Area School District superintendent announced on Thursday that classes would be back in session on Friday morning at the intermediate high school.
An SUV on Wednesday crashed into the Peoples Natural Gas Co. substation below the lower parking lot at the senior high school, causing a disruption in gas service to the school, as well as the intermediate school.
While repairs just after the crash returned natural gas service to the senior high campus, additional work was required to return service to the intermediate high school.
Intermediate high students attended classes remotely on Thursday, because the school was without heat.
The district announced classes would be carried out as usual on Friday, said Brian White, district superintendent.
