9:50 p.m. Wednesday — An unidentified green, four-door Chevrolet Malibu sideswiped the entire driver side of another car on Morton Avenue, and drove away. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling down Center Avenue into Butler.Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.7:29 p.m. Wednesday—Jerry Gutierrez, 21, of Harrisville was hurt when his vehicle rear-ended another vehicle at Meridian and Buttercup roads. Police said Gutierrez, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for careless driving. Edward Feil III, 30, of Butler, was the other driver.
9:15 p.m. Sunday — A 14-year-old girl is accused of hitting two 15-year-old girls in the face. A cell phone belonging to one of the 15-year-olds was broken in the altercation. The younger girl, who police did not identify, is charged with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief.
Thursday — Police reported they are investigating the theft of six long guns that were stolen during the past year from a South Jackson Avenue home in Parker, Armstrong County.The stolen guns are a Winchester model 94, .32-caliber special rifle; Winchester model 88, .308-caliber rifle; Winchester model 70 National Match, .30-06 rifle; Savage model 24V over/under, .22-caliber/20-gauge rifle; Remington model 341A, .22-caliber rifle; and a Thompson Hawken .50-caliber muzzleloader.The guns, valued at $4,975, were taken between June 4, 2010, and June 4 of this year.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Thursday — Police charged John J. Pytel, 21, of Sarver with drunken driving stemming from a 2:09 a.m. June 11 traffic stop on Freeport Street in Clinton Township. In addition to driving under the influence, Pytel is charged with disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving, an open container violation and not wearing a seat belt.Thursday — Police charged Paige E. Cuomo, 23, of Allison Park, Allegheny County, with DUI and careless driving stemming from an incident at 12:37 a.m. June 24 at a home in Orchard Lane in Middlesex Township. Troopers were called to the home after Cuomo showed up allegedly intoxicated and would not leave, according to a police report. Police said they later learned Cuomo had driven there.June 21 — A 93-year-old Winfield Township woman was swindled out of an undisclosed amount of money in a contest scam.Police said the unknown thief called the woman and told her she won a contest. She was told that to claim the money, she had to send a processing fee to the caller. The woman followed the instructions and sent a check, but never got her prize.
3:50 p.m. Thursday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Michael J. Vetere, 60, and a minivan driven by Jean M. O'Connor, 47, both of Grove City, collided on Route 208 near Route 19 in Springfield Township. Police said Vetere was cited for improperly entering or crossing the road.8:30 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Gail E. Salsgiver, 58, of Polk, Franklin County, struck a tree along Rowitsch Road in Sandy Lake Township. Police said Salsgiver, who fled the scene, is charged with driving at an unsafe speed and failing to immediately notify police of an accident.10 a.m. Monday — A pickup driven by Demetrios Felouzis, 57, of Baden, Beaver County, struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township.
