Blurton

Evelyn Marie Blurton of Butler died Tuesday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Butler, March 7, 1929, a daughter of the late Edward P. and Daisy Kuntz Connors.

A member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, she most enjoyed being with her grandchildren and was an avid baseball and Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

Marie was a homemaker, and had worked for 10 years at the Union National Bank in downtown Butler in building maintenance. In her younger years, she had worked at the Hot Dog Shop.

Surviving are her husband, Carl E. Blurton, who she married Nov. 24, 1950; a son, James Blurton and his wife, Mary, of Evans City; a daughter, Judy Smith and her husband, Dan, of Butler; four grandchildren, Rana (David) Hornsby of Franklin, Tenn., Chris Smith of Slippery Rock, Katie (Steve) Rauschenberger of Butler and Lorie (Shane) Sloboda of Palm Bay, Fla.; and a sister, Peggy Kennedy of Meridian, along with her daughter and granddaughter, Deanna Kennedy and McKenzie Hutchens.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

<B>BLURTON</B> — Friends of Evelyn Marie Blurton, who died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road in Meridian. Her pastor, the Rev. James Murphy, will officiate. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.The Bereavement Committee of St. Fidelis Parish will conduct a vigil prayer service at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
