Elaine B. Taylor, 80, passed away Tuesday from complications of a fall.

Born in Pittsburgh, Feb. 25, 1929, she made her home in Slippery Rock and Winter Haven, Fla.

After her children were raised, she went to college, earned a master's degree in 1972 and became an English teacher.

Elaine had a love for traveling, reading and yoga. She was an excellent cook and an award-winning gardener. She was a member of the Grove City Book Club and learned to snow ski and SCUBA when she was 50 years old.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Hermann F. Busch Jr. and Marie (Walters) Thornton.

She is survived by her husband, David C. Taylor; her sister, Suzanne B. Kelsch of Winter Haven, Fla; her son, Craig (Cathie) Brennan of Cranberry Township; and two daughters, Lynn Reid Brennan of San Jose, Calif., and Cathy (Larry) Schweinegruber of Fombell.

She also is survived by six grandchildren, Stefanie Cusick, Lincoln (Wendy) Banuelos, Anna (Ben) Hirsch, Cameron Seibly, and Cory and Chazz Brennan; and three great-grandchildren, Christine and Jhey Banuelos and Cassidy Stacy; and several nieces and nephews.

<B>Taylor</B> — Friends and family of Elaine A. Taylor, who died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, are being received at a garden memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Monday at 311 Harmony Road in Slippery Rock.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Heifer International Foundation or Smile Train.
