BC3 ready to host its 1st Future Fair
BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College students and community members can weigh their life options, both their four-year college careers and their employment careers, at one event.
The first BC3 Future Fair, a combination of the college’s career fair and college fair events, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 26 at Founders Hall.
“We are bringing together about 50 employers and 30 colleges in one place so students can get information about where to go from here,” said Mary McGinnis, BC3 career and academic adviser.
College officials hope by making a combined event there will be a larger student turnout.
While there are a variety of careers covered, many of the employers include health care and insurance agencies. Bayer Healthcare, Butler Health System, Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Aflac, Liberty Mutual Insurance and Lifesteps are among the employers who will be present at the fair.
Colleges will include Slippery Rock, Chatham, Duquesne, Edinboro, Point Park and Penn State universities.
A full listing of colleges and employers attending the fair is at www.bc3.edu/career. Tips on how to prepare for the college and career fair also are on that website.
McGinnis said while the event is geared to BC3 students and alumni, anyone can attend. No registration is required.
