Crash sends woman, child to hospital
CENTER TWP — Two cars collided Wednesday afternoon, sending a woman and her child to the hospital for evaluation, according to state police.
A Butler man driving south on Mercer Road in a white Dodge Charger hit a Mitsubishi Lancer traveling in the same direction, police said.
The accident occurred around 3:40 p.m., according to emergency services.
The Lancer was driven by a Butler woman with one passenger, her child secured in a booster seat in the back of the vehicle, according to police.
The woman and child were transported by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital as a precaution, police said.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene, according to firefighters.
Center Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted in cleanup and directing traffic at the scene.
The portion of Mercer Road around the accident was limited to one-lane for about 45 minutes, emergency personnel said.
