10:16 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Brian Scotece, 31, of Mars crashed over a hillside while swerving to avoid an animal on Grandview Boulevard. Scotece suffered minor injuries.5:45 p.m. Wednesday — Nicholas Campbell, 28, of Butler was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication after Butler Memorial Hospital security reported to township police a male causing a disturbance.
Wednesday — Emily Bachman reported two tires on her car were punctured while it was parked outside her apartment at 265 W. Water St. between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The tires were valued at $350.11:27 p.m. July 22 — Gwen Fox, 38, of Freeport was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a traffic stop on Water Street. She also was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, careless driving and failure to maintain lane of travel.
1:35 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Patricia L. Swidzinski, 80, of Butler and a car driven by Shane W. Peters, 18, of Butler collided at the intersection of Mercer and North Duffy roads in Center Township. Peters suffered a minor injury. Swidzinski was cited for failure to obey stop signs.2:12 a.m. Friday — Jocelyn A. Arnoni, 17, of Pittsburgh was arrested under suspicion of DUI after the SUV she was driving crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its roof along West Liberty Road in Worth Township. Arnoni suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Allegheny General Hospital.9:30 a.m. Thursday — Someone damaged three outdoor lamp posts valued at $200 belonging to Herbert Hepner of West Sunbury at a residence along Peaceful Valley Road in Washington Township between 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information can call police at 724-284-8100.7:01 p.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Gregory A. Weir, 63, of New Castle and a car driven by Pamela S. Neely, 43, of Butler collided on Route 422 in Franklin Township. Neely suffered minor injuries, but her passenger, Connie B. Ivill, 55, of Butler, was not injured. Weir, who was not injured, was cited for driving at unsafe speed.9 a.m. July 23 — Someone threw an unknown object through the 8-by-6-foot sign at the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department’s Oneida Valley Road station in Oakland Township between 6 p.m. July 22 and 9 a.m. July 23, causing $250 in damages. Anyone with information can call police at 724-284-8100.2:27 a.m. July 17 — Curtis Waugaman, 43, of Saltsburg, was arrested under suspicion of DUI and cited for several traffic violations following a traffic stop on Route 8 near Boyers Road in Mercer Township.
