Tuesday — Police charged Jessica L. Holley, 26, of Erie with returning several items of shoplifted merchandise from the Kmart at Pullman Square for $360.37 in store credit. Police alleged Holley committed the alleged crime with another woman, who apparently has not been identified.Holley is charged with receiving stolen property and conspiracy.Tuesday — Angela Lee Schlagel, 35, faces a criminal charge for allegedly giving a 17-year-old boy a tattoo Oct. 17 at her Pillow Street home. Police said Schlagel tattooed the youth without his mother's permission. She is charged with tattooing a minor, a third-degree misdemeanor.
Midnight Tuesday — Ricky P. Rice, 24, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on New Castle and Lions roads. In addition to DUI, he is charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, failing to keep right, not using turn signals and careless driving.12:54 p.m. Monday — Two Butler teenagers were hurt when vehicles they were driving collided at North Main Street Extension and Evans Road. Both drivers, Bailey Kraus and Jessica McCarrier, were treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.The crash briefly closed the southbound lanes of Route 8. Police cited Kraus for not stopping at a red light.Nov. 8 — A suspected mother-daughter shoplifting team were caught allegedly stuffing DVDs in their purses at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Charged with retail theft and conspiracy are Bobbie Wolfe, 40, and Ashli Dove, 18, both of Butler.
9:20 p.m. Tuesday — An upstate New York man was hurt when the car he was driving struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. James A. O'Brien, 41, of Honeoye Falls, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with minor injuries.1:55 a.m. Tuesday — An unknown driver did not stop after his black pickup truck struck the side mirror of a car on Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township. The unidentified pickup was last seen traveling east on Route 108. Eric V. Hilton, 52, of Glen Mills, Delaware County, was driving the car.6:26 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Garrett M. Smith, 22, of Connoquenessing crashed and rolled over on Route 308 just north of Stoney Run Road in Center Township. Police cited Smith for a lane violation.Oct 17 — A thief stole about $1,000 worth of steel railroad parts on Keck Road in Summit Township. The theft happened between Oct. 16 and 17. The suspect possibly drove away in a dark-colored van. The Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad owns the stolen property.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
Tuesday — Someone broke into the Madison Township Municipal Building and stole several fire extinguishers. The break-in happened between Friday and Tuesday. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.1:20 a.m. Saturday — Russell R. Anderson Jr., 59, of Kittanning faces a misdemeanor drug possession charge after an emergency room clerk stumbled upon a baggie of suspected marijuana in Anderson's clothes at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township.Anderson was being treated at the hospital and the ER worker was moving his jacket when the suspected drugs fell out of a front pocket and dropped to the floor. Police said the investigation continues.Saturday — Someone fired a shotgun that struck and damaged a hunting blind in woods off Worthington-Slate Lick Road in Worthington. The property sustained about $100 in damage in the shooting between Nov. 7 and Saturday.Friday — Brett A. Walker, 30, of Kittanning allegedly admitted he stole money and jewelry from a home on Ross Street Extension in West Franklin Township. Walker was a guest at the home at the time of the suspected theft. Police said he is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
