Sunday — Three people were arrested for driving under the influence during weekend DUI patrols in the county.In all, 220 vehicles were stopped and 98 traffic citations issued. Officers also cited 10 people for underage drinking, three for public drunkenness and two for disorderly conduct. One person was arrested on a warrant.
2:41 p.m. Tuesday — Three people were hurt when a car driven by Patricia A. Worley, 67, and a pickup truck driven by John M. Schaefer, 37, both of Butler, collided at Slippery Rock Road and Callender Lane in Fairview Township. The car rolled over following the collision.Both drivers and Amy Schaefer, 33, of Butler, a passenger in the pickup, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. All three were wearing seat belts.Worley was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.8 p.m. Monday — Donald B. Convert, 50, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly threatened to kill another man during an altercation at the Clearview Mall parking lot in Center Township.Convert was holding an air rifle when he threatened 40-year-old Dale Heeter of Kennerdell, Venango County. The confrontation came after a telephone argument between the two men.Covert is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats reckless endangerment, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,500 bailFriday — A Hi-Point 9 mm pistol was stolen Thursday or Friday from a car at a home on Chauser Lane in Clay Township.3:17 a.m. Aug. 29 — William A. Ziegler, 23, of Prospect was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 488 near Route 528 in Prospect.
9:20 p.m. Monday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Todd R. Semple, 28, of Harrisville struck the back of another SUV on Route 365 between Sheakleyville and Carey roads in New Vernon Township.The other driver, Michael A, Vantassel, 39, of Sandy Lake, and a passenger, Tracy Vantassel, 32, of Sandy Lake, suffered unknown injuries.Following the collision, Semple attempted to turn around and drive away but got stuck in a ditch. He fled on foot.Semple was cited for accidents involving injury while not properly licensed.2:45 a.m. Sunday — Michael P. Schmidt, 30, of Volant was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 19 in Springfield Township.
