12:12 p.m. Tuesday — Atractor-trailer driven by Gildardo Fernandez, 56, of Mission, Texas, ran over a stop sign and damaged a sidewalk at West New Castle and Chestnut streets.
3:23 p.m. Tuesday — A child, who police did not identify, was injured when hit by a vehicle on Park Drive. The victim was flown by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.Police did not identify the driver, also a juvenile. The investigation continues and no other information was released.
5:05 p.m. Monday — Vehicles driven by Megan Cypher, 27, of Clarion and Francis Scuticchio, 42, of Butler collided on Route 8 South.Monday — Copper pipe and numerous barber equipment were stolen in a break-in at a Shady Avenue home. The burglary occurred between Saturday and Monday
Tuesday — An unknown thief stole two catalytic converters from vehicles in the parking lot at Schaefer Truck Sales on New Castle Road in Franklin Township. The thefts occurred between 2 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.7:49 p.m. Monday — Pickup trucks driven by Leo D. Mohan, 43, and Alvin P. Wise, 31, both of Butler collided at Herman and Schnur roads in Summit Township. Police said Mohan, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for a stop sign violation.3:40 p.m. Sunday — Acar driven by Carrie Waldroup, 33, of Hilliards crashed into an embankment on South Benbrook Road in Center Township. Police said Waldroup was cited for a lane violation.12:01 a.m. July 26 — Jonathan Pell, 47, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Herman and Bonniebrook roads in Summit Township.
3:54 a.m. today — Aminivan driven by Henry Holterman III, 40, of Mundelein, Ill., struck a guardrail on Interstate 80 at the Porter Road overpass in Clintonville.
8 a.m. Tuesday — Acar driven by Jennifer Lee Booher, 29, of Kittanning crashed into a concrete divider on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township. The car spun around twice, went across the opposite side of the road and traveled 126 feet, hitting a guardrail.The car continued to travel another 36 feet before it struck the side of the Buffalo bridge. Booher was treated at ACMH Hospitalin Kittanning for minor injuries. Police said she was cited for driving too fast for conditions and not wearing a seat belt.
2:25 p.m. Tuesday — Three children were hurt, two seriously, when the sport utility vehicle they were riding in collided with a triaxle truck at Route 158 and Steingrabe Road in East Lackawannock Township.Lisa Ann Watson, 34, of Mercer, who was driving the SUV, and three girls, ages 3, 4 and 7, were injured. All three girls were flown by medical helicopters to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio.Police described the older girls' injuries as serious. The youngest child and Watson, who was taken by ambulance to Grove City Medical Center, both had moderate injuries. All three girls were secured in child safety seats and Watson was wearing a seat belt.Police said the truck driver, Mark J. Beatty, 45, of Grove City, also was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
