11:06 p.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Kevin E. Krause, 26, of Butler crashed into a fence on Stutz road about one-half mile east of Freeport Road in Summit Township. Police cited Krause for driving too fast for conditions.9:35 p.m. Monday — A tractor-trailer driven by Pepi L. Minafee, 43, of Milwaukee, Wis., backed into another rig in the parking lot at the Pilot convenience store on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. Police cited Minafee for improperly backing up a vehicle, careless driving and accidents involving an unattended vehicle.3 a.m. Saturday — Benjamin J. McCormick, 19, of Butler was caught with illegal black metal knuckles following a traffic stop on Pipestem Road just west of Beaver Dam Road in Cherry Township.McCormick is charged with possession of prohibited offensive weapons, driving without a license, a stop sign violation, making an illegal stop and careless driving.
Wednesday — An unknown burglar broke into the Toby Township municipal building and stole a chain saw. After that theft, the suspect removed gas from the gas tank outside the building. The crimes occurred between 9 a.m. Tuesday and 4 a.m. Wednesday.12:30 a.m. Monday — Kenneth E. Moore, 27, of Slippery Rock lost control of his car on ice- and snow-covered McCleary Road and hit several trees in Highland Township. Police said Moore was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4:18 a.m. Saturday — Toby B. Painter, 25, of Rimersburg swerved his car to avoid a deer and struck an embankment on Route 861 just southeast of Eccles Street in Toby Township. The car became airborne and flipped onto its side.
