2:48 p.m. Thursday — Police charged Benjamin Lee Whittington, 27, of Lyndora after rescuers revived him following a suspected heroin overdose at a North Washington Street apartment.The Butler Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service were called and tended to Whittington. When he awakened, he admitted he had injected himself with heroin, according to a police report.Whittington described the bag of heroin he used as white with a star stamped on it. The ambulance crew told police that the description was similar to a bag of heroin linked to another overdose earlier in the day.Police said they cited Whittington for possession of drug paraphernalia.12:06 p.m. Thursday — Richard M. Nolan, 21, of Butler is accused of stealing $143 from a home in the 300 block of West Brady Street. The alleged victims, Rodger and Mary Jane Shelatree, told police that Nolan had been staying at their home. After the suspect left, they noticed the money missing from a bedroom.The Shelatrees called Nolan and asked him about the money. The couple told police that he admitted taking it, the report said. Police charged Nolan with theft.

11:17 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Matthew Wiles, 19, of Chicora hit an embankment off Slippery Rock Road in Donegal Township before striking a railroad tie wall, becoming airborne and hitting a utility pole. Wiles had moderate injuries. He was cited for not driving at a safe speed. Police suspect the Chevrolet Cobalt that Wiles was driving is the one owned by Tiffany Lynn Radwanski, 25, of Chicora that was stolen outside her home sometime after 10:15 p.m.6:05 p.m. Monday — A pickup driven by Christopher Walters, 45, of Slippery Rock and a car driven by Mathew Durso, 24, of Beaver Falls collided at the intersection of Kiester and Harmony roads in Slippery Rock Township. The impact caused the car to hit a second car driven by Danielle McMullen, 21, of Altoona. Walters was cited for a stop sign violation.
