2:01 a.m. today — Jonathan C. Daugherty, 22, of Butler Township ran away after crashing his car on Center Avenue near West Boyd Avenue, according to a police report.Daugherty was southbound when his car crossed the center line and traveled across the northbound lane, hitting a shrub at 801 Center Ave. and a block retaining wall at 803 Center Ave. Both properties were damaged in the crash.Police said Daugherty ran off and was later caught. He faces a charge of hit-and-run.
8:58 a.m. Wednesday — William Hamilton, 32, of Butler swerved his car to avoid a deer on Vogel Road and struck a fence and tree.10:18 a.m. Tuesday — Michael Buzas, 50, of Butler was arrested after allegedly threatening and assaulting a 59-year-old Butler man and an 85-year-old woman during a domestic dispute in the 100 block of Elizabeth Drive. The older man suffered minor injuries in the incident.Buzas was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and two counts of harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.
Tuesday — Police charged Paul E. Lefever, 52, of Center Township with fondling a mentally-handicapped woman last year. Lefever is accused of molesting the woman at a home in Clay Township on July 4.Police on Feb. 12 interviewed the suspect, who admitted he groped the woman four times on the Fourth of July. He is charged with four counts each of indecent assault and harassment.
6:53 p.m. Tuesday — A van driven by a Wisconsin man crashed and rolled onto its roof on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. Police said the driver, Juan Zuniga-Munoz, 36, of Beaver Dam, was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.1:50 p.m. Friday — Michael T. Ritson, 24, of Cranberry Township was hurt when a car rear-ended the pickup truck he was driving on Route 19 just south of Falls Road in Springfield Township. Ritson, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.The other driver, David A. Gallo, 32, of New Castle, was cited for careless driving, according to a police report.11:43 a.m. Feb. 13 — A minivan driven by Derrie B. Michalski, 41, of Harrisville struck a sport utility vehicle parked in the Walmart parking lot in Pine Township. Michalski drove away after the crash. Police said she was later found and cited for careless driving.11:50 p.m. Feb. 12 — Heather Lynn Palmer, no age given, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Bottle Hill and Lee roads in Springfield Township.
