Wednesday — Police charged Kimberly Ann McConnell, 22, of New Castle with identity theft for allegedly opening an account for telephone service in the name of aButler woman. The alleged victim is McConnell's former roommate, a police report said.Tuesday — Police found an electric scooter in the area of Broad Street. The owner can claim the property by contacting police.5:34 p.m. Monday — Thomas Edward Snyder, 20, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence following an altercation with a neighbor on Maryland AvenueSnyder and Steven Hovis, 24, of Butler are accused of starting a fight with the neighbor before leaving in a car that police stopped on Maryland Avenue. Police said both men are charged with disorderly conduct.Additionally, police said Snyder is charged with DUI while a minor and underage drinking.
3:51 a.m. Wednesday — Unknown burglars made off with an automated teller machine inside the Bogacz Country Market on Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township. Police said they did not immediately know how much money was inside the ATM, which was bolted to the floor.1:30 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Jonathan Nowakowski, 17, of Butler struck a guardrail before hitting a tree along Saxonburg Road in Summit Township. Police said Nowakowski faces a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.10:10 p.m. July 24 — Billie Jo Bowers, no age given, of Summit Township was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 in Middlesex Township.July 19 — An unknown burglar stole beer and coins inside a riverfront cottage on Route 268 in Hovey Township, Armstrong County. Ayellow canoe outside the cottage also was stolen. Tammy McHenry of Knox, Clarion County, owns the property that was taken between July 7 and 19.
3:19 p.m. July 11 — Barbara Pringle, 25, of Cochranton, Crawford County, suffered an apparent broken leg when the sport utility vehicle she was driving struck the rear of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.Police said Pringle was flown by medical helicopter from the Grove City Medical Center to an unknown hospital for treatment of injuries. Manuel Betancourt, 36, of Dubois, Clearfield County, was driving the rig.
