Ronald and Karen Thompson

Ronald and Karen Thompson of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a surprise party in Renfrew with family and friends.

Thompson married the former Karen Geibel on July 18, 1970, at St. Patricks Church in Sugar Creek.

They have two children, Michelle Lorenz of East Butler and Amy Sydorowycz of Tampa, Fla.

They also have two grandchildren.

Thompson is retired from Butler School District.

Mrs. Thompson is employed by Butler Area Sewer Authority.

They belong to St. Paul Church.
