The Sherwins in 1956

William and Genevieve Sherwin of Petrolia celebrated 50 years of marriage with a dinner for family and friends at the Garden Gate Restaurant in Prospect.

The former Genevieve Crissman married Sherwin Sept. 15, 1956, at Heilman Lutheran Church in Ford City.

They have three children, Tammy Myers of Bruin, Sherry Atkison of Chicora and Keith Sherwin of Parker.

They also have eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.Sherwin is retired from Witco in Petrolia, where he worked as a hydro operator. He enjoys gardening.Mrs. Sherwin is a homemaker. She enjoys shopping.The couple enjoys NASCAR and watching their grandson's cart races.
