1:51 a.m. Saturday — Randall W. Double, 53, of Butler Township was arrested for driving under the influence at Hansen and Knox avenues. Police also cited Double for reckless driving.9:47 p.m. Friday — James Westerman III, 21, of Butler faces charges stemming from a suspected hit-and-run accident on Pillow Street.Westerman was driving a pickup truck that drove away after hitting a parked car. Witnesses got a partial license plate number that helped police find the pickup driver.The suspect later told officers that he panicked after hitting the car. He is charged with accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle and driving at an unsafe speed.

11 p.m. Sunday — Emily Lacava, 22, of Sarver suffered a moderate injury when the car she was driving crashed and rolled over on Route 356 in Winfield Township.Sunday — A Blair County man was arrested and jailed after he ran from troopers who were trying to arrest him in connection with an incident at The Heights in Slippery Rock Township. Brian Lee Hostler, 20, of Bellwood is in the Butler County Prison on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and underage drinking.12:30 a.m. Saturday — Jared Palmer, 24, of Allegheny County was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Kiester Road near Rocket Drive in Slippery Rock Township.3:20 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Randy S. Newell, 46, of Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County, rear-ended another car on Bonniebrook Road near Route 356 in Jefferson Township. Newell was cited for careless driving. Nicole D. Watterson, 27, of East Butler was driving the other car.1:50 a.m. Thursday — Amanda Marie Tobias, 22, of Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 173 near Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township.5:43 p.m. Wednesday — A trooper was injured when a car collided with his cruiser at Route 8 and Muddy Creek Drive in Center Township.Trooper Steve Sheldon was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a moderate injury. Tammy L. Hemphill, 43, of Slippery, a passenger in the other car, also suffered a minor injury in the crash.Sheldon was in a marked patrol car when a car driven by Merle E. Hemphill Jr., 47, of Slippery Rock, hit it. Merle Hemphill faces a ticket for driving at an unsafe speed.5:15 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Michelle J. Steinhiser, 34, of Butler struck the rear of a car at Route 356 near Hannahstown Road in Jefferson Township. Steinhiser was cited for following too closely to the car, which Kelsey E. Rovnan, 19, of Mars was driving.

Saturday — Several power tools and a piece of plywood were stolen from a trailer that was being remodeled on Wyant Road near Toy Road in North Buffalo Township. The theft occurred between Aug. 20 and Saturday.3:28 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by David T. Pesci, 18, of East Brady struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle on Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township. Chris A. Hillwig, 59, of Karns City, who was driving the SUV, was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a minor injury. Pesci was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.10:20 a.m. Sept. 28 — An SUV driven by Nolan J. Smouse, 16, of Worthington and a pickup truck driven by Kevin J. Klingensmith, 49, of Kittanning collided at Route 4008 and Walkchalk Road in East Franklin Township. Smouse was cited for a stop sign violation.

12:20 a.m. Wednesday — Cecil William Vaughn, 18, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Branch Street and Route 62 in Stoneboro. Vaughn also was cited for underage drinking and three traffic violations.9 p.m. Sept. 27 — A 2008 Zhejiang scooter, valued at $1,500, was stolen in a burglary on Barkeyville Road in Pine Township.

Thursday — An unknown thief stole an undetermined amount of mail from a mailbox at a home on Heinz Camp Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The mail was taken between 2 and 4:30 p.m.
