MIDDLESEX TWP — A 41-year-old woman suspected of drunken driving is accused of kicking the arresting police officer at a hospital where she was taken for a blood test.

Angela M. Ocilka of Middlesex Township faces felony assault and other charges in the altercation that began about 10:40 p.m. Friday when she was pulled over for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8.

Middlesex Township police said the traffic stop followed a 911 call from another motorist who reported seeing a car driving "all over the road," according to court documents.

Patrolman Randy Davison got behind the car on Route 8 near Old Route 8 South and saw it travel in and out of its lane. The officer stopped the vehicle on Dwellington Drive.

Ocilka, who was driving the car, smelled of alcohol and her eyes were bloodshot, police said. She said she had one drink.

The woman was arrested after she refused to perform field sobriety tests, police said. She was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test.

But Ocilka refused to sign paperwork for the hospital to draw her blood. Instead, a police affidavit said, the suspect continued to argue with Davison "about getting her car out of impoundment."

While the officer was standing behind Ocilka, she allegedly raised her right foot and kicked him in the right knee. He was not injured.

Police said she had to be forcibly removed from the hospital.

Ocilka is charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and DUI.
