Pearl Jane Miller
Pearl Jane Miller, 75, of Miller Road, Portersville, died Wednesday at her home after a 10-week illness.
Born in Tarentum, March 13, 1933, she was the daughter of Andrew Howard Schroder and Viola Pearl Wise Schroder.
Her husband, William Clifford Miller Jr., whom she married Sept. 20, 1952, died Oct. 1, 2007.
She was a homemaker and was the majority inspector in Portersville for the Butler County Election Bureau since 2001.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Portersville Alliance Church and attended the New Life Baptist Church in Prospect.
She was a 1951 graduate of Mars High School. She enjoyed baking, cooking and the family Christmas tradition of making hard tack candy for family and community members. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter.
Surviving are a daughter, Cathy Jane McClelland and her husband, Jeff, of Prospect; a granddaughter, Kaylin Jane McClelland of Prospect; three aunts, Leila "Tootsie" Schroder of Saxonburg, who was like a mother to her, Mildred Peaco of Pittsburgh and Betty Bryce of California; and a number of cousins, including a special cousin, Merle Mahan and his wife, Nancy, of Gibsonia.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kay Miller.
<B>MILLER</B> — Visitation for Pearl Jane Miller, who died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. A private funeral service will be held later at the convenience of the family with Pastor Jason Williams of the New Life Baptist Church in Prospect officiating. Interment will be at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.
