Clifford O. "Red" Garris, 75, of Parker Pike, Parker, Allegheny Township, Butler County, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at Clarion Hospital following an illness.

Born on April 18, 1933, in Bruin, he was the son of Clifford and Mable Corbett Garris.

Mr. Garris was married to Catherine Kriebel Davis on Aug. 20, 1956. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2004.

Mr. Garris retired from Conrail, and had been a conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 33 years. He and his son, Mark, operated their farm in Allegheny Township, Butler County, for many years. Mr. Garris was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are four children, Mark Garris of Parker, Matthew Garris of Detroit, Mary Pierce and her husband Harry of Melvindale, Mich., and Martha Cochran and her husband, Glenn, of Oil City. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, B. Marie Rosenberger of Worthington, Irene Haugh of Callensburg, Mary Kline and her husband, Lynn, of Knox, and Ressie Burris and her husband, Lawrence, of Knox.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Garris was preceded in death by a son, Jackie L. Davis, on Sept. 17, 2004, and a brother, Walter Garris in 1939.

<B>GARRIS</B> — Friends of Clifford O. "Red" Garris, who died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>HILE FUNERAL HOME,</B> 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home, with the Rev. John Hickman, pastor of the Fertigs Charge of the United Methodist Church, officiating.
