3:12 p.m. Monday — A call for a reported heroin overdose at a Carbon Street home ended with 21-year-old Casey L. Kuminkoski being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Paramedics were tending to Kuminkoski by the time police got to the home, where she lives. The woman was conscious and speaking to the treating medics.

Kuminkoski's grandmother, who also lives at the home, called 911 after finding the suspect passed out with a cooking spoon and hypodermic needle cap on the floor nearby her.

The grandmother told police she also found a hypodermic needle among Kuminkoski‘s belongings.

Kuminkoski denied shooting heroin, and claimed she was “faking being passed out.”

Tuesday — Police reported that Kent L. Cooper, 35, of Slippery Rock faces drunken driving charges stemming from a two-vehicle crash Nov. 30 on Route 8 just north of Shields Road in Mercer Township.The collision happened about 2:20 p.m. when Cooper's pickup truck collided with a car driven by Cole A. Knight, 19, of Harrisville. Knight, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries.Cooper was arrested for driving under the influence. Additionally, he was cited for improperly entering or crossing a road.6:15 p.m. Monday — Benjamin Roberts, 29, of Portersville was arrested after allegedly hitting 31-year-old Amanda Wilson in her face several times during an altercation at a home on Moraine Drive in Muddy Creek Township. Roberts, who is charged with simple assault, is free on $5,000 bail.4:32 p.m. Monday — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle collision in Cranberry Township. The crash happened when cars driven by Trista Orienza, 27, of Pittsburgh and Nanette Paracca, 42, of Fombell, Beaver County, collided on Interstate 79 just south of Rowan Road.Orienza, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. She was cited for making an improper lane change, driving with a suspended license and driving with an expired inspection sticker.Sunday — John D. Dunmyre Jr., 24, of Butler was arrested after allegedly violating a woman's protective order over the weekend. Dunmyre called the woman by telephone between 8 a.m. Saturday and midnight Sunday.9:30 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Donald Z. Kushner, 21, of Chicora crashed into a tree along Daubenspeck Road in Parker Township. Kushner was cited for careless driving and failing to immediately notify police of an accident.1:10 a.m. Friday — Joel D. Boyle, 26, of Volant, Lawrence County, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on I-79 in Worth Township.7 a.m. Dec. 2 — A pickup truck driven by Michael B. Slair, 30, of Slippery Rock struck a concrete barrier after sliding on an ice-covered bridge on Route 422 about 3 miles east of Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Slair was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

Monday — Several mailboxes along Plateau Street and Milt Miller Road were vandalized between Sunday night and Monday mornings. Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
