10:30 a.m. Friday — Robert Bacote, 48, of Butler was charged with possession of a controlled substance, theft from a motor vehicle and resisting arrest after he allegedly was caught attempting to enter vehicles at the lot next to 222 W. Cunningham St. Following a short foot chase, city police arrested Bacote and allegedly confiscated a Garmin GPS unit and a substance that turned out to be counterfeit heroin.7:34 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Lisa L. Phillips, 53, of Butler crashed into a guard rail at the intersection of Pleasantview Avenue and Hickory Street.
5:51 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Jeffrey Lindey, 47, of Slippery Rock and a vehicle driven by Brian Kephart, 45, of Evans City collided at the intersection of Evans City Road and Benbrook Road. An unnamed passenger in Kephart's vehicle was injured and was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital. Lindey was cited for a red light violation.3:52 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Joshua Smith, 26, of Butler and a vehicle driven by Philip Kearns, 26, of Butler collided at the intersection of Route 8 and Bean Street.8:13 p.m. Feb. 6 — David Szura, 57, of Butler was charged with DUI and careless driving following a traffic stop on Route 8 near Bon Aire Plaza.
Thursday — Someone used three counterfeit $20 bills to pay for items at the Famous Footwear in Grove City Premium Outlets, Springfield Township.
4:11 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Adam Canfield, 26, of Lower Burrell, a car driven by Kathleen R. Cochran, 58, of Lower Burrell and a car driven by Timothy Waugaman, 32, of Freeport collided on Route 28 in Harmar Township, Allegheny County.
