The Freeport Youth Football Organization will hold its Field Dedication Day at 11 a.m. Sept. 10.The organization involves 148 children from Freeport, South Buffalo and Buffalo Township. The field is located just left of the rear of Lernerville Speedway.Lernerville Speedway and other businesses in the Sarver area donated time and money over the past several years for the construction of a football field on the speedway's property.Past board members and those respective businesses will be recognized at the Sept. 10 ceremonies.

The annual Butler Varsity Fall Cheerleading Clinic takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Butler High School gym.Cost is $25 per person and includes T-shirt, pom-pom and snack. The Slippery Rock Eels community swim team is holding registration from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 17 and 24 at the Slippery Rock Park community building off North Main Street in Slippery Rock.Fees are $100 for the first swimmer, $90 for the second and $80 for the third. The Seneca Valley Junior Football Association North is raising funds to build a field house near the athletic field at Evans City Elementary School.This building would house equipment and uniforms.
