Center's Harvey does double duty in double OT win

Cole Harvey scored on a 10-yard run in the second overtime and added the conversion kick, giving Center Township a 24-16 victory over East Butler in Butler Area Midget Football League play Saturday at Memorial Park.

Harvey scored on a 45-yard run in the first quarter and added the kick for an 8-0 lead.

East Butler blocked a punt at the Center Township 20-yard line in the fourth quarter to set up Elijah Christy's 1-yard scoring plunge on fourth down.

Cody Herold added the conversion kick to tie the game.

East Butler (1-1) grabbed the lead in the first overtime on a 5-yard scoring run by Chad Walker. Matt Ahrens added the conversion kick.

Center Township (2-0) pulled even on Harvey's 1-yard touchdown plunge on fourth down, followed by Harvey's PAT kick.

South Butler 8, Penn Street 0 -

Logan Renwick raced 73 yards for the only touchdown of the game on the second play of the contest. He added the conversion kick.

Both teams are 1-1.

Meridian 6, East Side 6 -

Bob Noel's 1-yard run put Meridian on top in the second quarter. East Side tied the game in the fourth quarter on Jordan Allen's 2-yard run.

East Side 26, Meridian 14 -Spencer Murray scored four touchdowns for East Side. He returned a punt 52 yards for a score, a kickoff 65 yards, scored on a 41-yard run and on a 55-yard pass play.Meridian scored on a 75-yard kickoff return by Jake Hilliard and a 4-yard run by Brandon Reamer. Hilliard had a conversion kick.
