YOUTH FOOTBALL

Matt Bartley scored touchdowns on a kickoff return of 77 yards and on a 1-yard run as the Gold defeated the White, 28-6, last weekend in the Butler Area Midget Football League All-Star Game that concluded the league's season.

Cole Baxter scored the White's lone touchdown on a 28-yard run in the first quarter. Bartley responded by returning the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown.

Dillon Weston scored on a 2-yard run on fourth-and-1 in the second quarter. After Bartley's second TD, Brandon Vardy ran in the extra point.

Brandon Taylor's 33-yard run in the third quarter, followed by Cory Kuhrt's conversion run, hiked the count to 26-6.

The final points were scored on a safety with four minutes remaining.
