The Northern Steel Comets Under-15 girls soccer team won the Chesterfield Icebreaker Tournament held in Richmond, Va., March 10 and 11.

The squad defeated teams from Virginia Beach, Va., (2-0), Williamsburg, Va., (3-0), Washington, D.C., (2-0) and Lancaster, Pa., (2-0) to capture the title.

Northern Steel's goals in the tournament were scored by Amara Pappan, Mandy Cerminara, Melissa McKellar, Audrey Scott, Elysa Bowen and Sarah Heckman.

Other team members are: Lara Dorko, Grace Emmerling, Lexie Mastro, Sarah Williams, Erica Sullivan, Erin Resosky, Tia Maticic, Jaime Hildebrand, Kelley Bellia, Alyssa Blake, Sarah Geffel and Sarah Scheidemantel.

The team is coached by Malcolm Cook and his assistant is Paul Archibald.
