The Slippery Rock girls under-12 Division C team finished as a finalist in the PAWest Open last weekend at Edinboro University.

Players include Harley Boyd, Laura Hilliard, Skylar Kerr, Kristen McDeavitt, Maranda McGovern, Ellie Mularski, Hannah Shumway, Haley Urben, Cassie Cooper, Katelyn Fair and Abby Magiocca.

Bill Kerr is the squad's head coach, assisted by Mike McGovern and Jim McDeavitt.

Northern Steel sent teams to the regional playoffs in Pittsgrove, N.J. The under-14 girls played three games, defeating STN2-0 and Cape Cod 3-0 before dropping a 3-0 decision to a New Jersey team.

Laura Elliot of Cranberry Township and Mackenzie Hohn of Chicora scored two goals each with Brittany Miller of Butler adding one.

Chelsea Rice of Butler got the shutouts in goal.
