Alyssa DiPippa scored 14 points to lead the Butler Gold girls seventh-grade basketball team, to a 26-19 victory over Pine-Richland recently.

Julia Baxter had eight points.

The Gold eighth-grade team suffered a 44-23 loss to Pine-Richland despite seven points from Lauren Bresnahan and five from Madison Tincha.

Last week, the seventh-grade Gold lost a 30-26 decision to Shaler despite five points from DiPippa and four from Shelby Campbell.

The Northern Steel Select team defeated Erie 6-0. Mars area residents Amber Fichter scored two goals, Melina George had one goal and Olivia Haefner had an assist. Kyler Lum added a goal and two assists, and Allison Iorio had one goal.In a 3-0 win over Excalibur (Ohio), Fichter had two goals and Lum had one goal and one assist.The team also tied the Cleveland Whitecaps 0-0.Goalie Charlene Doerr of Portersville earned the shutouts.
