The Seneca Valley Seminoles youth football team clinched a playoff berth Saturday with a 6-0 victory over Bethel Park Orange.

Tied at 0-0 with only 20 seconds left, it appeared that the Seminoles' season would come down to overtime. However, Jack Cook connected with Payton Skalos for a 59-yard touchdown pass to provide the winning margin.

Despite being outgained 170-71, the Seminoles' defense held firm when it mattered. Casey Barrage registered a sack while SV was facing a fourth-and-goal from the 7 midway through the second quarter.

Cook intercepted a Bethel Park pass at the 7 as the Hawks were once again driving to take the lead at the end of the first half.

Corey Laskey had nine solo tackles and three for loss among his team-leading 11 tackles. Payton Skalos recovered a fumble when Bethel Park muffed a punt return. Conner Ailes recovered a fumble late in the contest. That possession resulted in the game- winning score.'

Seth Markle spent much of the day in the Black Hawk backfield. His two QB sacks highlighted a seven-tackle performance.

The Seminoles will kickoff postseason play Saturday.
