John M. Hoover

John M. Hoover, 74, of Chicora, formerly of Butler and West Sunbury, passed away at 5:05 p.m. Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center.

He was born April 30, 1936, in Butler. He was the son of the late William Kenneth Hoover and the late Crescentia Schaffner Hoover.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Reserves.

He was a welder/steamfitter with Local 47.

He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed fishing and walking.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Deal Hoover, who he married June 15, 1957; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Diana) Moore of Chicora and Mrs. Daniel (Cynthia) Robinson of Cranberry, Venango County; one son, David Hoover of Butler; seven grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Russell (Mary Esther) Wood of Butler; and one brother, George Hoover, of Meridian.

He was preceded in death by two sons and one brother.

<B>HOOVER </B>— Friends of John M. Hoover, who died Saturday, April 16, 2011, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. David Fisher of the Home Acre Chapel officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
