Kenneth L. McCall
Kenneth L. McCall passed away Wednesday at age 97 of complications from pneumonia.
Ken was born Jan. 8, 1921, to Dora and Clifford McCall.
He was a lifelong Butler resident until 2013, when he and his wife moved to the Presbyterian Retirement Village in Hollidaysburg, Pa.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 74 years, Donna Yarger McCall.
Ken had four daughters, Kay (Bob) Lane of Brighton, Mich., Pamela (Jim) Vacheenas of Baltimore, Md., Rebecca (Bill) Hornung of Hollidaysburg, Pa., and Marsha (Bud) Dippold of Ridgway, Pa.
His wife and family were the love of his life.
Ken graduated from Butler High School in 1939. He attended Butler Business College and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1940 until 1941.
He was a member of the Jefferson Township Board Authority, Jefferson Township School Board and the South Butler School Board.
Ken was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and had served as a trustee and a Sunday school teacher.
He worked for Habitat for Humanity for 10 years. He was honored at the Legacy Dinners from 2013 until 2018.
Ken was employed at Castle Rubber for four years, Pullman Standard for three years and John R. Ellison Plumbing and Heating for 30 years.
He was a registered master plumber and a partner in Cunningham, McCall and Shanor, until his retirement in 1986.
Ken was an avid reader and card player. He was recently most proud of his book he wrote and published, “The McCall Odyssey.”
Ken loved children and was able to connect with them. His caring spirit, upbeat personality and infectious smile will be remembered by all who knew him.
MCCALL — Friends of Kenneth L. McCall, who died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, will be received from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 200 E.
