Laconi

Larry F. Laconi, 92, of Newhaven Court at Clearview, formerly of Saxonburg, died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Butler, Aug. 28, 1916, he was the son of the late Tarquinio and Felicia Pelliccione Laconi.

He was a graduate of the Butler High School Class of 1935, and he attended Slippery Rock University.

He formerly was employed at Butler Armco for 10 years, and he also formerly worked as a painting contractor in the Butler area. He retired as a salesman at the Highway Equipment Co. in Zelienople.

He was a former member of the South Butler School Board and a former president of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company.

A veteran, he served in the Army in World War II.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler; the VFW Post 894 of Natrona Heights and the American Legion Post 83 of Saxonburg.

He is survived by two sons, Reggie Laconi and his wife, Sandra, of Carmel, Ind., and David Laconi and his wife, Eileen, of Falmouth, Maine; six grandsons, Dr. Brad Laconi of Indiana, Bruce Laconi of Indiana, Lance Laconi of Indiana, Joe Laconi of Georgia, Daniel Laconi of Rhode Island and Christopher Laconi of Massachusetts; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Marian Maurhoff Laconi, who passed away March 25, 1997; two brothers, Andrew "Gump" Laconi and Joseph "Buddy" Laconi; and two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice D'Aniello and Mrs. Rosina Grillo.

<B>LACONI</B> — Friends of Larry F. Laconi, who died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. with the Rev.
