Charles O. Rodgers Jr.

Charles O. Rodgers Jr., 75, of 866 Harmony Road, Slippery Rock,Mercer Township, died at 12:05 a.m. Thursday at his home with his wife by his side, after fighting a courageous battle with colon cancer since March.

Born Oct. 1, 1933, in New Castle, he was the son of Charles O. Rodgers Sr. and Gladys Rosetta Sullivan Rodgers.

Charles was a retired truck driver, driving for 30 years. He was a member of the Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church. His most enjoyment came from his granddaughter, Sydni.

On May 26, 1956, he married Betty M. McKee. She survives along with two sons, Scott A. Rodgers and wife, Athena, of Slippery Rock, and Charles S. Rodgers and wife, Kellie, of Butler; a granddaughter, Sydni; several nephews and cousins, and a good friend of the family, Mr. Bill Martin of Harrisville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Hazel Koontz.

<B>RODGERS</B> — Friends of Charles O. Rodgers Jr., who died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>CUNNINGHAMFUNERALHOME INC.</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Tim Bupp, pastor of Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Willard Morse, visitation pastor of Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
