Monday — Police reported they cited two people for trespassing at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons last week. Charged are Aaron Fichter, 24, of Butler and Megan Jones, 21, of Chicora.4:15 a.m. Saturday — Paul W. Jennings, 43, and Megan Kernicky, 30, both of Butler, were arrested following an altercation with a 43-year-old Butler woman in the 100 block of New Castle Road. The older woman, who police did not identify, suffered unspecified injuries.Jennings and Kernicky were arraigned on charges of simple assault, conspiracy and harassment. Jennings also is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.3:01 p.m. Friday — Christopher Cooper, 23, of Butler was allegedly caught shoplifting items at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said Cooper is charged with retail theft.

Monday — Police reported they are investigating a bicycle theft at 182 George Junior Road. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime in the early weeks of March. The bike is described as a blue/gray Schwinn girl's mountain bike.Saturday — A gray, 1998 Dodge Caravan was reported stolen from the 200 block of Blaine Street. The theft happened between 11 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday. The minivan, which bears the Pennsylvania license plate GZN3154, has minor damage to the driver's door and new red rear shocks.Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 724-458-7925.Saturday — Two youths face charges in juvenile court stemming from a fight at 125 Grant St. Police charged one juvenile with simple assault and disorderly conduct. The other juvenile was is charged with disorderly conduct.

3:52 p.m. Monday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Richard C. Busching, 74, of Zelienople struck a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Police said Busching's diabetic condition caused the accident.Friday — Police filed several felony and other charges against Troy David Hughes, 39, of Concord Township, who is accused of stealing his father's identity to fraudulently open two credit card accounts.Hughes between November 2008 and June 2009 opened the accounts and charged a combined $20,352 on them, according to court documents.The suspect is charged with the following felonies: three counts of access device fraud, two counts each of forgery, theft by deception, receiving stolen property and identity theft. Additionally, he is charged with two misdemeanor counts of access device fraud.Hughes, following arraignment Friday, was placed in Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.

9:17 p.m. Friday — A suspected drunken driver was arrested after a high-speed chase through at least two communities in Clarion County.Shayne McCann, 27, of Emlenton went so far as to turn off his vehicle's headlights in his failed getaway, a police report said.A trooper running a radar check on Route 368 near Hagentown Road in Perry Township caught McCann speeding. The suspect failed to pull over when the trooper tried to stop the car.McCann drove into West Freedom before turning onto Doc Walker Road. He finally stopped his vehicle a short time later about one mile from Route 268, back in Perry Township.Police said they could smell alcohol on the defendant's breath. They also found him with a small baggie of suspected marijuana.He was arraigned on several charges including fleeing or attempting to elude police and driving under the influence, and placed in Clarion County Jail on $10,000 bail.

4:24 a.m. Sunday — Benjamin G. Tegethoff, 24, of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 in Buffalo Township, Butler County.2:50 a.m. Saturday — Donald L. Bish, 45, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 28 near exit 18 in South Buffalo Township.6:45 a.m. Friday — Tractor-trucks driven by Benny E. Myers, 71, of Chicora and Matthew B. Toy, 27, of Kittanning collided on Route 44 near Blanket Hill Road in Kittanning Township.
