Theodore 'Ted' Zima

Theodore E. "Ted" Zima, 81, of Linsdale Drive died Wednesday at the Sunnyview Home.

Born Nov. 13, 1924, in Butler, he was a son of Thomas and Balvina Stahurski Zima.

He had owned and operated the Butler Bakery until 1963 and Zima's Restaurant on West Jefferson Street for 45 years.

Mr.Zima was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He also belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4035 and the Holiday Camplands, both in Andover, Ohio, and was a life member of the VFW Post 249 and the Slovak Sokol Society.

He loved camping on weekends, boating and water skiing.

He served in the Army during World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy F. Henry Zima, whom he married March 12, 1983; a son, Richard Zima of Huntington, W. Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Debby) Churella of Chester, W.Va., and Mrs. Steve (Sandi) Parker of Phoenixville, Chester County; two stepsons, William Clark of Karns City Timothy Clark of Butler; and two stepdaughters, Lori Clark and Debora Safranek, both of Butler.

He also is survived by two grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, a step-great-granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and a sister.

<B>Zima </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Theodore E. "Ted" Zima, who died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:35 a.m. Saturday at the church.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
