Patricia Ann Stehle Artman
Patricia Ann Stehle Artman, 89, died Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot where she had resided for nearly six years.
The daughter of the late Paul A. Stehle and the late Mary Louise Turner Stehle, Patricia was born Aug. 21, 1929, in their home along what is now Mitchell Hill Road in Butler.
She was a 1947 graduate of Butler High School.
In addition to working as a bookkeeper at various Butler businesses, including Singer Sewing Co., Patricia helped out in her parents' grocery store at Sunset Drive and Mahood Road.
She married Arthur R. Artman on June 13, 1956, in Butler. They raised their children in Allison Park, and after 1972, in Westfield, N.Y., where they operated Bob Artman's Mobile Homes and briefly, the Montgomery Ward & Co. catalog store.
Patricia joined the Chautauqua County Child Support Office in Mayville, N.Y., shortly before her husband's death on Jan. 1, 1986, and she worked there another 10 years.
Following her retirement, Patricia moved back to her hometown where she lived for many years in the Highlands Apartments.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed helping her former classmates organize their high school reunions. In 2017, she attended her 70th Butler High reunion. For several years, she also attended monthly luncheons with former classmates from the former St. Paul Catholic School.
In addition, she worked as a part-time bookkeeper at the Meridian Station Gift Shop from 1999 to 2005. Pastimes included playing cards, especially bridge, solving crossword puzzles and watching classic movies.
Patricia is survived by her daughters, Catherine Artman of McCandless, and Edythe Artman of Alexandria, Va.; as well as her nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Stehle of Shippenville, Pa.

North St., Butler.A blessing service will be held immediately following at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev.
