4:41 p.m. Wednesday — Brittany Smith, 22, of Butler is accused of allegedly taking money while working for her employer, 3B's Tobacco on New Castle Road. Smith is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.9:40 a.m. Tuesday — Robert Kessler Jr., 43, of Butler was cited for criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at the Comfort Inn on Route 8 south.2:30 a.m. Saturday — David A. Slater, 63, of Butler faces four charges after causing a disturbance at a home on Seneca Drive. Slater allegedly damaged a vehicle there. Police charged Slater with trespass, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment.

11:45 p.m. Saturday — Joseph E. McFadden Jr., 46, of Grove City was cited for driving a vehicle towing a trailer without lights and with a license plate that was altered to make it appear valid, following a traffic stop on West Mercer Street.

7:40 p.m. Tuesday — Two people were hurt when their car crashed, rolled over several times and caught fire on Main Street just north of Golf Course Road in Manor Township.The driver, Jacob J. Febinger, 24, of Kittanning, and passenger, Alyssa J. Cousins, 21, of East Brady, were taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with moderate and minor injuries, respectively. Both occupants were wearing seat belts.Police said Febinger was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Wednesday — Kody A. Sarnese, 26, of Portersville, an inmate at the Butler County Prison, faces drug charges after suffering a heroin overdose in his cell about 9 p.m. March 28.Prison officers found Sarnese unconscious with a hypodermic needle stuck in his right hand, according to court documents, and an empty stamp bag of suspected heroin on the floor.An ambulance crew had to administer Narcan, a drug used to counteract heroin overdoses, which helped revive him.Sarnese is charged with possession of a controlled substance by an inmate, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.Wednesday — An inmate was charged with smuggling several drugs into the Butler County Prison last month. Prison staff caught Susan M. Gallagher, 44, of Morgan, Allegheny County, with the drugs hidden on her, according to court documents.Authorities suspect Gallagher on March 29 was booked into the prison while hiding Suboxone and four different prescription drugs.When questioned why she had the drugs, detectives said, the suspect told authorities that she did not want to “get sick” at the prison.She is charged with smuggling drugs into the prison, a felony.

8:45 a.m. Thursday — Ilario D. Ciabattoni, 36, of Carnegie, Allegheny County, was hurt when he lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into a tree along Rodgers Road just east of Burns Road in Plain Grove Township.Ciabattoni, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Jameson Hospital in New Castle with a minor injury. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
