1:42 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Velma Dreher, 77, of Butler Township and a sport utility vehicle driven by Bonnie Burman, 42, of Butler collided at North Main and East Penn streets.12:26 p.m. Thursday — Cars driven by Julia Howryla, 82, and Richard Molino, 57, both of Butler Township, collided at East Jefferson and North McKean streets.

4:15 p.m. Wednesday — An administrator at the Butler Intermediate High School followed an unmistakable aroma to a 16-year-old student, who was caught with suspected marijuana in one of his pockets. The boy, who police did not identify, faces charges in juvenile court of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

5:30 a.m. today — Two boys, who authorities did not identify, escaped from the Summit Academy reform school on Herman Road in Summit Township. Buffalo Township police caught the boys around 7 a.m.4:40 p.m. Thursday — Nathan P. Schmitt, 30, of Portersville suffered a head injury when his car rear-rended a pickup truck stopped to make a turn on Route 19 at Old Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township.Schmitt, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with a moderate to severe cut to the head. Joanne E. Barto, 45, of Portersville, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt.Sunday — An unknown burglar broke into a home on Vogleyville Road in Summit Township. Police did not immediately indicate if any property was taken in the burglary that happened between 9:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
