Wednesday — Two suspected shoplifters are jailed for allegedly trying to pilfer clothes from the Kmart store at Pullman Square.Joshua Michael Crispin, 20, and Surenu Erika Frank, 20, both of Butler, face charges of robbery, conspiracy and retail theft in the case. Crispin also is charged with simple assault and Frank with possession of drug paraphernalia.Both are in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond each.Police were called to the Kmart about 6:50 p.m. Monday after the defendants became combative with store security personnel and fled the store. The shoplifting became a robbery case as well because the incident involved violence with an employee.Employees told police they tried to stop Crispin and Frank after spotting them taking numerous clothing items, which the suspects tried to hide in Frank's purse.Officers reviewed the video from the store's surveillance cameras and identified the suspects. Police arrested the pair Wednesday.Wednesday — Tracy Lynn Deal, 37, of Petrolia was arrested for allegedly calling in a bogus prescription to a Butler pharmacy.Deal was arraigned on charges of acquisition of a controlled substance by misrepresentation and identity theft, and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bond.She also is being held on a warrant for a probation violation, stemming from her conviction in February in an unrelated identify case.

5:20 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by David Antanaitis, 46, of Gibsonia crashed into a ditch and fence post along West Main Street in Eau Claire. Gary W. Watt, 52, of Boyers, a passenger, was treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital. Antanaitis was cited for careless driving.11:42 a.m. Wednesday — Cars driven by Patricia White, 50, of Allison Park, Allegheny County, and Lisa R. Duncan, 17, of Butler collided on Route 8 in Center Township. Duncan and a passenger in her car, Danelle Duncan, 19, of Butler, were treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital. Police said White was cited for a turn violation.Wednesday — About $300 in currency and coins was stolen between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday in a burglary at the Driftwood Drive home of Michael Isenberg in Saxonburg.Wednesday — An unknown thief removed two catalytic converters from a pair of parked vehicles at Stu's Cycle Shop on Freeport road in Summit Township. Police said only one of the converters was taken. The theft occurred between Saturday and Wednesday.Sunday — An Xbox game console was stolen from a camper at the Slippery Rock Campground in Worth Township.

5 p.m. Wednesday — Sean Newcamp, 24, of Templeton was injured when his car collided head-on with a pickup truck at Routes 28 and 66 in Rayburn Township. Police said the crash apparently occurred after Newcamp fell asleep at the wheel.After the initial collision, Newcamp's vehicle continued and struck head-on another car that was driven by Thomas Jedlowski, no age given, of Arnold, Westmoreland County.Police said Jedlowski was taken with unknown injuries to an undisclosed hospital. Newcamp suffered minor injuries. Robert Cashdollar, 47, of Shelocta, who was driving the pickup, was not injured.
