Carl Andrew Rose
Carl Andrew Rose, 93, of Butler passed away at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday at the Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas.
He was born Feb. 21, 1919, in Butler, to the late Carl Rose and the late Alice Johnston Rose.
Mr. Rose was veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He belonged to the Butler Lodge 272 F.&A.M., A.A.S.R, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle, the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh, Caravan 14 of Butler and the Butler Shrine Luncheon Club. He was secretary-treasurer of the Butler Armco, now AK Steel, Employees Association and he also belonged to several golf and bowling leagues.
Mr. Rose was a graduate of the Butler Business College. He was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.
Mr. Rose worked in the accounting department of Armco, retiring in 1981 after 35 years.
Mr. Rose is survived by his wife, Deloras (Marterella) Rose, who he married in September 1994; one son, Carl A. Rose Jr. and his wife, Deborah (Sloan), of Hempfield Township; three daughters, Mary (Bandura) MacDonald and her husband, Donald, of Rochester, Mich., Patricia (Bandura) McLaren and her husband, Ronald, of Clifton Park, N.Y., and Yvonne (Rose) Stehle and her husband, David, of Butler; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one stepson; two stepdaughters; 11 step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn E. (Frankenburger) Rose, who passed away March 7, 1990.
<B>ROSE</B> — Friends of Carl Andrew Rose, who died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, will be received at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary Kitchen of the East Butler Presbyterian Church officiating.
