Man charged with damaging family home
CRANBERRY TWP — A Seven Fields man allegedly bit another member of his family on his chest before breaking items in the home early Monday.
Luke A. Lavalle, 19, of Seven Fields is charged with simple assault stemming from the incident, according to court documents.
Documents indicate police were called to a home for a report of an assault in progress. Lavalle was detained while officers spoke with the victim, who said that on Sunday, Lavalle had broken a back window out of the house, pushed his inoperable vehicle into the yard and broke items around the home.
The complaint states Lavalle was taken for a psychological evaluation and was discharged a short time later.
After being back at the home for about 20 minutes, Lavalle tried to go into the victim’s room to get car keys, and was physically stopped by the victim. Lavalle allegedly began punching the victim in the chest and arms, and allegedly bit the victim, leaving “a very pronounced bite mark on his right side of the chest area where Lavalle latched on and bit him.”
Lavalle allegedly went around the house punching walls, damaging property and put a crack in the windshield of a vehicle at the home, the complaint states.
Lavalle was arraigned Monday morning by District Judge David Kovach, who set bail at $5,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.
