2:39 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup driven by Steven A. Casper, 50, of Butler struck a car at Whitestown Road and Villa Drive. Police said Casper, who fled after the crash, faces charges of hit-and-run and nine other unspecified traffic violations. A police report did not identify the other driver.1:46 p.m. Monday — A 17-year-old boy was arrested after he was caught with an 8½-inch knife at Butler Senior High School. The student, who police did not identify, is charged in juvenile court with possessing a weapon on school property.
4:10 p.m. Jan. 11 — Leland E. Kosinski, 46, of Evans City was arrested for driving under the influence on Harrison Street. Kosinski was driving a truck that was towing another truck on the snow-covered road, according to court documents.A blood test, police said, showed Kosinski's blood-alcohol level was 0.238 percent, or nearly three times more than the state's legal limit for alcohol.
Tuesday — A bicycle was found in the 200 block of College Avenue. The owner can claim the bike at the police station at 337 E. Pine St.8:05 a.m. Monday — Cars driven by Brandon Miller, 32, of Slippery Rock and Timothy Munley, 42, of Grove City collided on East Poplar Street between South Broad and Walnut streets.Police said Miller, who was treated at Grove City Medical Center for a minor injury, was cited for several unspecified traffic violations.
Monday — Police filed drugged driving charges against Michael P. Inlow, 24, of Clearfield, Pa., stemming from a Nov. 19 traffic stop on Route 68 in Forward Township.Toxicology results, according to court documents, showed Inlow's blood contained the presence of compounds for antiseizure medication and benzoylecgonine, which is a metabolite of cocaine.Inlow is charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving on the wrong side of the road, careless driving and a lane violation.
8 a.m. Jan. 9 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Kirsten R. Culbertson, 19, of Rimersburg struck a fence post after sliding off snow- and ice-covered Route 68 in Toby Township. Miranda D. Switzer, 16, of Sligo, a passenger in the SUV, suffered a minor injury. Police said Culbertson was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
Tuesday — An unknown burglar stole an undetermined amount of property from a home on Wilson Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The break-in happened between Sunday and Tuesday.
