Man accused in threat to kill wife, co-workers

CRANBERRY TWP — A township man accused of threatening to shoot his wife and “take out” her co-workers had his case transferred to Butler County court this week.

Scott T. Lowery, 50, is charged with felony terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another and misdemeanor terroristic threats causing the evacuation of a building for the incident, which occurred June 20.

According to the criminal complaint, Lowery told his business partner that he was leaving work to go home and get his son’s handgun. He then said he was going to go to his wife’s workplace, “to kill her with the firearm,” the complaint states.

The complaint states Lowery also indicated that after he killed his wife, he was going to “take out” other employees at the business.

After the threat was reported, that Cranberry Township business was evacuated and closed for the remainder of the day.

Lowery appeared last week before District Judge David Kovach and waived the charges to court. A formal arraignment is scheduled Sept. 25 before Judge William Shaffer.
