Clauser Sr.

Richard E. "Snookie" Clauser Sr., 73, of Butler passed away Monday at his home.

Born in Butler, March 17, 1936, he was the son of the late James V. and Helen Collodi Clauser.

He was a retired supervisor at Magnetics, and he formerly was employed at U.S. Steel.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served in the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the French and Belgium Club, and the American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora.

He is survived by two sons, Richard E. "Skip" Clauser Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Butler and Larry A. Clauser of Butler; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Thompson and her husband, Marshall, of Butler; one sister, Mrs. Betty McFadden of Wilkes-Barre; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

One son, four brothers, two sisters, one grandson and his longtime companion, Shirley Fleeger, preceded him in death.

<B>CLAUSER</B> — Friends of Richard E. "Snookie" Clauser Sr., who died Monday, March 8, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Michael Cemetery.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael's will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home for a scriptural wake service.Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the VFW Post 249 and the American Legion Post 778.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
