2:09 a.m. Wednesday — Clint J. Harper, 24, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Cassie Shever, during a domestic dispute at their College Street home.Harper is accused of punching Shever in the face as the couple argued on their porch. Shever was treated for injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital.Police later arrested the suspect, who admitted the earlier argument had turned physical; however, a police report said, he claimed Shever had pushed him several times.Harper was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment this morning on a charge of simple assault.

2:28 p.m. Monday — Stephanie McCormick, 28, of Pittsburgh allegedly stole a Clarion County woman's cell phone from the women's restroom at the Target store in Butler Commons. Police said McCormick is charged with theft.11:03 p.m. Sunday — William Earl Thomas, 28, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence while aboard a motorcycle on Route 8.

Tuesday — Someone tried but failed to break into Pam's Florist N Gift Shoppe on South Washington Street in Eau Claire. Police said the would-be burglar pried back the molding around the garage door in his failed bid to get into the business between 5 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday.Anyone with information about the attempted burglary is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

7:25 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Kayla Hersperger, 24, of Slippery Rock struck a guardrail at Route 173 and Airport Road in Pine Township. Police said Hersperger was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.1:10 a.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Dana M. Hilles, 40, of Grove City struck a ditch and guardrail at Springfield Church and Jarvis Lake roads in Pine Township. Police said Hilles was cited for driving without a license and not wearing a seat belt.2:45 a.m. June 26 — Elizabeth Tatomarovich, no age given, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 58 in Findley Township.

Sunday — An unknown burglar stole $825 and four personal checks during a daylight break-in at a home on Princeton Station Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.
