Helen Louise Bayuszik

Helen Louise Bayuszik, 88, of Butler passed away Friday at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 8, 1929, in Amherstdale, W.Va., to the late James Monroe Bias and the late Josephine Adkins Bias.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Vangie Bias Mahan and Marie Bias Berger; and two brothers, Lucian Bias and Charles Bias.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bayuszik, whom she married Oct. 28, 1950, and who died March 13, 1996.

Mrs. Bayuszik received her nursing degree from Berea College. She then worked as an operating room nurse and later a school nurse for the Butler School System before retiring in 1993.

She was a member of Homeacre Chapel. Helen enjoyed teaching children at Good News Clubs and served many years on the board of Child Evangelism Fellowship.

She created hundreds of hand-stitched blankets for family and friends. She enjoyed winning Rummikub and croquet and loved cooking and baking. Her life was woven together by prayer and Bible reading and singing old hymns.

She is survived by her five daughters, Debbie (Peter) Jones of Limassol, Cyprus, Kathie (Jerry) Soen of Chicago, Ill., Denise (Curt Neubert) Bayuszik, M.D., of Peshastin, Wash., Jane (Dan) Hartzler of Butler and Renay Bayuszik of Butler; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

BAYUSZIK — Friends of Helen Louise Bayuszik, who died Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. A graveside committal service will take place at the Butler County Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Wednesday.A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, 420 N. Main St., Butler, with Pastor David L. Fisher of Homeacre Chapel and Pastor Daniel Ledford of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America officiating.Memorial donations are suggested to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Butler County, P.O.
